B+W are delighted to have been awarded the contract for the swimming pool and thermal cabins at Strathclyde University, Glasgow.
Within this project, due for completion in August 2018, B+W are contracted to design, supply, install and commission the 25m, 6 lane pool. The filtration system is medium rate sand filtration and the water treatment consists of chlorine for disinfection, pH control and UV sterilisation. This pool will also benefit from a movable floor allowing flexibility for multi-activities within the pool.
Along with the pool we will be responsible for the supply, install and commission of the sauna and steam room within this new facility. The £33m new build will also host a new fitness suite with over 100 stations, 4 new fitness class venues and physio rooms offering services including physiotherapy, massage and nutrition consultation.
We are thrilled to be working again with Graham Construction on this project, along with our recently awarded Northwest Campus contract, creating a first-class facility that will provide health and wellbeing benefits for the university community, as well as improving participation in sport more generally.
