Building work on the new £8.5m Community Sports Village in Banchory is now underway, after having been in the pipeline for years.
This is a very exciting project for the local community which will provide; a 6 lane swimming pool, learner pool, three court sports hall, fitness suite, squash courts, changing facilities and public viewing areas. As well as the sports village the development will also bring 130 homes, a care village and a number of shops.
B+W are delighted to have been awarded the contract for the design, supply, install and commissioning of the 25m main and 15m x 11m learner pool filtration systems.
With Aberdeenshire Council spending £7.8m on the centre, the remainder of the funding has been raised through the Banchory Sports Village Trust, which has been supported by all of the local community and leisure clubs.
We are delighted to be working alongside main contractors, McLaughlin & Harvey, on this project which is scheduled to open in May 2019 and will provide a wonderfully comprehensive facility for all.
