The Barr + Wray Ion Exchange Colour Removal System
A Water Solutions division design, we have recently completed reg. 31 approval of our colour removal system.
At the heart of system lies three specialist proprietary ion exchange resins. These resins target and reduce the levels of natural organic matter (NOM) present in surface water sources which contribute to colouration of the water. This is critical not only as coloured water is perceived negatively by the consumer, but more importantly as removing this contamination from the water reduces the level of potentially carcinogenic disinfection by-products (specifically THM’s) from water which is subsequently chlorinated.
The resins are housed in bespoke, tailor made stainless steel pressure vessels and are supplied with all the ancillary equipment required. They are designed to be low maintenance, low power consuming units which will provide a safe, reliable supply of water for years to come.
The exact configuration of the system and resins are tailored to the requirements of each individual water source, thus guaranteeing the most efficient and effective solution B+W can provide.
We have a number of these system currently in operation across the country which, as part of a larger treatment scheme, provide safe, clean drinking water to numerous facilities.
Barr + Wray Colour Removal Ion Exchange Resins
As with above, the resins used in the Barr + Wray Ion Exchange Colour Removal System are available as resins only (i.e. without the hardware associated) for use in existing suitable ion exchange equipment.
Stainless Steel Media Filters
B+W Water Solutions Division are proud to offer a range of stainless steel media pressure filters. The filters are approved under regulation 31 (33 Scotland) of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations for use in public water supplies and are manufactured in Scotland to our own design.
