Set in the middle of the town, the new Leisure Centre contains a 25m x 6 lane competition pool and a 13m x 7.5m Learner Pool. Other facilities include a 4–court badminton sports hall, 2 multi-purpose sports halls, fitness suite, and training room, with a 6-lane running track and 2 five-a-side soccer pitches externally.

B + W were responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the Pools, associated Filtration and Water Treatment plant, and Balance Tanks. The pool shells are constructed using the pre-engineered stainless steel Myrtha system.

The water treatment plant includes provision for retrofitting UV units as a primary means of disinfection should it ever prove necessary as a result of higher than expected bathing loads.

The Sauna and Steam Room in the fitness suite also formed part of B + W’s scope of works.
