Heworth Leisure Centre

Heworth Leisure Centre on High Lanes in Heworth open its doors this summer with the first indoor Flowrider® in the North East. Once opened the new centre will replace the 1960s swimming pool at Fewster Square in Felling.

Heworth Leisure Centre is the third of 5 purpose-built leisure centres to open as part of £36 million being invested by Gateshead Council. The first was the Blaydon Leisure and Primary Care Centre; launched in September, with Dunston, Birckley and Gateshead to follow. B+W were awarded the contract to design and install equipment throughout the 5 Leisure Centres.

Included in Heworth Leisure Centre is a 25m x 5 lane swimming pool, Learner pool, FlowRider®  and Childrens Pool as well as a gym and dance studios.

B+W was responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the 25m Pool, Learner Pool, Childrens Pool  and Flowrider® Filtration and Water Treatment plants.
