Basildon Sporting Village
Basildon has a rich and proud sporting heritage. Sport is at the heart of the ambitious regeneration plans for the District. The Basildon Sporting Village vows not only to be the best sports and leisure facility in Essex but the best in the East of England.
Aside from preparation from the 2012 London Games, this is the largest sports project in the Gateway. The Sporting Village will deliver a facility for the people of the region, equipped with a 50m international size pool, learner pool and much more, offering a wealth of activities and services for all.
The £38million centre now has almost 4,000 members while 60,000 people have tried out the facilities since its launch.
B+W were responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of the Ultra Violet filtration and water treatment plants and backwash recovery system.
In conjunction with our partners Malmsten, we also supplied a 25m x 21m Aqua Level screw-jack moveable floor and 21m traversible boom.
