B+W are delighted to have been nominated by the Isle Of Man IoM Dept of Education Sports + Culture to conduct the specialist refurbishment works at the National Sports Centre Pool. The main contractors, NK Construction of the IoM, will be taking possession of the site in Aug 2018 for an 8 month refit programme.
We will be responsible for the refurbishment of the existing plant which will improve the overall filtration and water quality, as well as the install of a new flumes and children’s splash pad, bringing a new aspect to the existing pool to benefit the whole community.
In order to improve the filtration plant we will install new electromagnetic flowmeters and upgrade the air scour system. In addition, new Ultraviolet water treatment units are to be installed to ensure the highest standard of water quality.
The installation of a brand new flume which will feature a rider timing system, traffic light rider control system and translucent light rings within the flume tube to provide a sensation of speed during the ride, will offer users a new experience when visiting the facility.
As well as this, the new zero depth children’s splash pad is being constructed, which will see B+W responsible for the play features within this including Geysers, floor jets, water tippling leaf and small children’s slide, all of which will create a completely new and exciting feature within the facility for children to enjoy.
