Construction work has begun on a new leisure centre in Stone, Staffordshire, as part of a £10m investment in the town’s leisure facilities.
The centre will include a 6 lane pool, alongside a gym and fitness studios, replacing the existing facility on Westbridge Park.
The £5.2m centre is at the heart of the £10m investment in the town’s leisure facilities, which Is likely to include a multi-use games area, skate park and play facilities.
Benefiting from Steel vessels and UV sterilisation, B+W are delighted to have won the design, supply, install and commissioning contract of the 25m x 12.5m main pool filtration water treatment plant.
Working alongside Willmott Dixon as the main contractors, this project is set for completion in Spring 2019.
Councillor Mike Smith, cabinet member for leisure at the council, said: “It is great that work will be under way this week on this new leisure centre to bring swimming and fitness under one roof”.
